The Process

This four-step process is streamlined and tailored specifically to your needs as we work together to work towards your financial goals. Hover over the four steps to learn more.

1

Consultation

This is an opportunity for us to get to know you and you to know us. We can hear your concerns & explain our process so you are comfortable moving forward. This session is no cost and typically takes about an hour.

2

Groundwork

Once you decide to hire us we will get to work building your personal plan. This phase is the most time-consuming but also where the biggest impact can often be made. Clients tend to enjoy this phase the most because it exposes simple adjustments that can be made and often have a tremendous long-term impact.

3

Implementation

By this time, the plan is built. Now, we just need to put all the pieces in place. We will work with you to implement all aspects of your new plan. This includes maximizing your emergency fund, debt reduction strategy, setting up all of your investment accounts, and making sure you stay on track.

4

Maintenance

Life changes and so your financial plan should be able to change accordingly. At this point, we should be meeting regularly to make sure we accommodate life as it happens.

FAQs

What should I expect from this process?

You should expect to have every aspect of your financial world in order by the time the plan is developed and implemented. You will know what goals can be attained & which will require more effort. At a minimum, you will know what actions need to be taken to accomplish your goals. We are happy to assist you with these actions so you can be successful.

Yes! We don’t concern ourselves with how much or how little you have. We only care that you have a desire to grow and prosper. If you have that desire, we would be happy to work with you.

There are countless investments to choose from and it is impossible to say what to invest in before we understand your current situation and tolerance toward risk. However, we do an excellent job of coaching clients so they understand investments and how they behave so you have a high level of comfort with them moving forward. Think of going into a doctor’s office and asking what medication is best before the doctor knows anything else about you.

There’s no easy answer to this question. To begin, invest what you can and build on it. You should strive to invest at least 15% of your income. The number depends on your goals. If you want to retire early and spend more, then you will need to save more. A good habit for anyone is to set up annual auto-increases in your retirement accounts so you always invest more without having to think about it.

The financial planning process from A to Z is never really over. We believe there are always things that can be done to improve your financial situation. We work in partnership with you to make sure progress is always being made. However, building a new plan and implementing it generally takes around 6 weeks.

No. Our contracts and agreements can be canceled at any time and are not binding in any way.

At first, while the initial plan is being developed, expect to meet weekly for 4 to 6 weeks. Once the plan is in place, we prefer to meet quarterly to make sure we account for any changes that are needed.
